“Rock Cafe by Day”

10cm x 10cm, Acrylic on canvas

While driving Route 66 back in 2015 I passed through Stroud in Oklahoma and took a photo of the fantastic Rock Cafe sign. The construction of Rock Cafe begain in 1936 and opened in 1939, but the neon sign wasn’t installed until the late 1940’s. Rock Cafe was given the name because of the local sandstone which it relied heavily upon to build it.
